Fiat Multipla engine oil consumption.

Max engine oil consumption is usually 400 grams every 1000 km. When the car is new, the engine needs to run in, therefore the engine oil consumption can only be considered stabilised after the first 5000 ÷ 6000 km.

IMPORTANT The oil consumption depends on driving style and the conditions under which the car is used.

How to check engine oil on a Fiat Multipla.

The engine oil level must be checked with the car on level ground and while the engine is still hot (approximately 5 minutes after turning it off).

  • Remove the dipstick.
  • Clean it with a cloth that does not leave threads or other impurities.
  • Put the dipstick into its seat pushing it down.
  • Take it out, the oil level shall be between the MIN and MAX marks on the dipstick.

The space between the MIN and MAX marks corresponds to about one litre of oil. If the oil level is near or even below the MIN mark, add oil through the filler neck until reaching the MAX mark. Oil level shall never exceed the MAX mark.

  1. You offer a measure in quarts. The measure you are using is US quarts, not imperial quarts which are larger.

It is important as someone filling their diesel engine with 4.4 imperial quarts wold be putting over 5 litres of oil in.

    1. Hello Phil, all measures are taken in:

      Liter [L, l]
Quart (US) [qt (US), qt liq (US)]
      Gallon (US)
